Some people impulse buy books. Some buy shoes they see in a store's window. Some go splurge a few hundred on clothing or collectables.

Not me.

Oh no.

Under the throes of passionate stringed instrument classical, I go and buy a cello.

A cello.
Crap crap crap crap. x_x

I hope to god that I never have to work for over 25 hours in a 2-day period, ever again... but know it may happen, with frequency, because they are just THAT short-staffed.

I worked a double yesterday - 6.30am to 9pm, and didn't get home until close to 11pm. I then couldn't sleep (I was BEYOND tired) and ended up getting about 4 fitful hours, before doing a 10 hour shift starting at 6.30am, the next day (which was earlier today).
I got home a few hours ago and then got a message from my boss, asking me to work tonight - I had only gotten home 5 hours earlier, from the 10 hour shift... and she wanted me to work the graveyard shift - 10pm to 6.30am. So I got home at 4pm, and she wanted me back at 10pm.
Fuuuuuuck.
I would have worked over 35 hours within a 48hr period, if I agreed.

It was fucking nuts.
I couldn't get in to work tonight, and had to decline. Sadly for myself, if I could have gotten there, I would have accepted the shift.
:l

I need to slow down before I burn out. I can't keep taking on 5-12 hour shifts one after another, day after day - on top of two other shifts earlier in the week, I worked 5 straight shifts between Thurs and Sunday.
I need to space them out more - but this is one of the main issues with being an on-call stand-in assistant nurse. You can't really knock back shifts you don't want, in case there are no shifts for a week (thus no money).

It not only sounds tiring but frustrating too...
I wish you a day full of rest and relaxation

I agreed to a shift from 6.30am to 9pm.
I'm dreading it. They offered me the day before the huge double-shift off, and I rejected it, because... I'm a fool. A stubborn fool.
Thankfully I have tomorrow off - my only day off this week.
I don't know what I'll do, but I'll make sure it's fun.

I'm so fucking glad that I have so much work, lately.

Sounds odd (who in their right mind is normally glad to be working night shifts and weekends?), but after years of searching for a decent job, I hit the goddamn jackpot and I'm so fucking happy.

I'm doing on-call nursing work, which is a little awkward given that I still don't drive (this was never a problem in the city, where I had great public transport), but it's so freaking worth the travel awkwardness.

I'm happy.

I'm BEYOND happy.

Dylan and I are planning a HUGE overseas trip and I'm so excited.
